This past weekend we spent 3 days at Act 1 Talent Dance Competition at Lake Oswego High School. Karley, Courtney, Rae and Lindsey all joined Kristen for different parts of the weekend supporting our dancers and families. From the get go, we could tell that the dancers were feeling different! More focused and also very positive! We spent the weekend hugging and high-fiveing, clapping, cheering, and trying to find parking. Families camped out and overall, the majority of our dances looked cleaner and more refined, with more energy and lots of facial expressions! One thing that the PC staff has focused on in the last few weeks is being more direct and individualized feedback in rehearsal and backstage. Some other great moments from the weekend include some of the Seniors and their moms helping Addisyn get ready for her Prom, the McKays bringing their own folding table to the lobby, Tiernan ROCKING the Teen/Senior class and earning a scholarship (see below for more), watching girls run back to love on their teammates coming off stage. But my favorite was being awarded THE Studio Spirit Award for the whole competition for having AMAZING/positive/supportive dancers, parents, and staff. It is our first competition BANNER!!! I couldn’t be more proud of CVDA for earning this recognition. Thank you all for living Dance Skills are Life Skills.
