Summer Camp Dress Code
(all ages)

Dance Campers are encouraged to dress in theme or in clothing that makes them feel most comfortable.

Clothing: Please ensure clothing covers all body parts keeping in mind that dance campers will be stretching and going upside down. Undergarments must be covered under shorts or skirts. 

Dancewear is always acceptablis if campers are not dressed in themed clothing or costumes. 

Shoes: Barefoot or clean dance shoes.

Other: Please no sharp items that could scratch others or the floor. 

Dance Party!
(2-3 year olds)

Shoes: Pink Ballet slippers (boys black) – can be barefoot if the shoes are too much 🙂 NO SOCKS.

Clothing: dance dress or leotard and shorts or tutu or biketard (if your dancer wears a dress or leotard, must have shorts or tights underneath)

Hair: back and off face

Pre-Ballet
(4 – 6 year olds)

Shoes: Pink leather sole ballet shoes (boys black)

Clothing: dance dress, leotard/tutu in any color. Tights not required but suggested and must have socks/water bottle.

Hair: back and off face (prefer bun)

Tap/Jazz
(4 – 6 Year Olds)

Shoes: Pink leather ballet shoes, AND black tap shoes

Clothing: dance dress or leotard/tutu in any color or leotard and shorts, or leotard and jazz pants; tights not required but suggested and must have socks/water bottle.

Hair: back

Ballet

All classes: bun w/hair net and no bangs

Beg. and Level 1: full sole leather ballet shoes; black leotard, pink tights

Level 2 – 3/Intermediate: full sole leather ballet shoes; black leotard, pink tights

Level 4/Advanced: split sole leather or canvas ballet shoes; black leotard, pink tights

Level 5: split sole leather or canvas ballet shoes; black leotard, black or pink tights

NOTE: Mac Studio Ballet Dancers wear leather full sole ballet shoes for beginning and level 1, leather split sole for level 2, and canvas split sole for level 3.

Tap – All Classes

Shoes: Lace up tap shoes:

Clothing: Shorts or leggings and a fitted t-shirt or tank top (ankles must be exposed) NO JEANS, NO SKIRTS

Hair: ponytail

Jazz – All classes

Shoes: Dancepaws, footundeez, or TAN jazz shoes – (boys: black jazz shoes)

Clothing: Must be dance wear i.e. shorts, leos, tanks, jazz pants, tights, NO BAGGY SHIRTS,

Hair: Secure ponytail or bun

Tiny Hip Hoppers/Hip Hop – All classes

Shoes: clean tennis shoes or high tops

Clothing: baggy shorts or pants, baggy shirt, NO JEANS, NO SKIRTS

Hair: must be able to put hair up

Tiny Tumblers/Tumbling – All classes

Shoes: barefoot (no tights)

Clothing: Leotard and shorts or a biketard (Boys: black athletic shorts and fitted white tank or t-shirt)

Hair: ponytail with secured bangs

Musical Theatre – All Classes

Shoes: TAN jazz shoes or character shoes

Clothing: All black dance wear i.e. shorts, leos, jazz pants

Hair: ponytail

Lyrical/Contemporary

See Jazz Requirements
(barefoot, footundeez, dance paws)

Cheer

Shoes: tennis shoes

Clothing: Spandex shorts with cotton shorts on top optionally, fitted t-shirt or tank top,

Hair: In ponytail

Stretch & Strength

Shoes: barefoot.

Clothing: Leggings or shorts. No jean, no skirts

Hair: Pulled Back

It's hard to put into words how amazing this dance studio is. They don't only teach dance at CVDA, Kristen and her team teach their students life skills like respect, confidence and how to give back to the community. We started our daughter in ballet when she was 5. It was amazing to watch our very timid shy daughter go into her beginners ballet class and come out with her head held high and a smile from ear to ear!

CVDA may be a dance studio, but what it excels at most of all is being an example of what it means for a business to exhibit virtue. That's not to say they don't have excellent training, they do - the instructors are talented, patient, and dedicated, and they have the trophies to prove it. Yet when you sign up for classes at CVDA, Kristen (owner) doesn't promise awards and scholarships, she promises your child will learn the skills necessary to be a positive, productive human being. Or as she puts it, "dance skills are life skills". As one example, they model positive contribution by actively serving and fundraising for the community every year.

It has been such a positive outlet for my kiddos, and gave them something to look forward to every week, even during the shutdown. I have been so impressed with the passion all the instructors pour into each and every class.

We found our home and second family. Each girl is ushered in and apart of a community that becomes family. The skills learned are way more than just dance related.
