Our Mission
Chehalem Valley Dance Academy is committed to providing high quality dance training in an inclusive and family friendly environment. At CVDA, our motto is dance skills are life skills. We inspire, empower, and educate our students to become great dancers but also to be conscious, compassionate, and happy contributing community members.
About CVDA
We offer classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop for ages 3 and up. Our programs focus on developing life skills as well as dance skills for the recreational or pre-professional dancer.
We employ the most qualified instructors that share the same pillars of leadership and expertise in their field. At Chehalem Valley Dance Academy, we believe that through dance training, every person can realize their true potential.
Our sessions run from mid September through the end of May and culminates in our Annual Showcase. Dancers will have one costume per class to purchase that will be theirs to keep following the showcase. As a family of CVDA, you are invited to participate in Parent-Watch Weeks, Bring-A-Friend Weeks,
The Nutcracker, First Friday Art Walk activities, and many more events at the studio and out in the community. Our staff believes that dance skills are life skills. Joining CVDA will grow every person’s self-confidence, discipline, respect, perseverance, leadership, active listening skills, and ability to set goals and achieve them.
Meet Our Awesome Team
Chehalem Valley Dance Academy recruits dance instructors with a passion for teaching, a commitment to continued education, and values that allign with the CVDA mission. We cultivate instructors through our assistant, apprentice, and junior instructor programs and find that this process empowers personal development in our dancers that seek leadership opportunities and way to continue to incorporate dance into their lives in a longterm capacity. To that end, we have instructors with a variety of life experience that are all incredibly passionate about dance as a way of life.

It's hard to put into words how amazing this dance studio is. They don't only teach dance at CVDA, Kristen and her team teach their students life skills like respect, confidence and how to give back to the community. We started our daughter in ballet when she was 5. It was amazing to watch our very timid shy daughter go into her beginners ballet class and come out with her head held high and a smile from ear to ear!
We found our home and second family. Each girl is ushered in and apart of a community that becomes family. The skills learned are way more than just dance related.
CVDA may be a dance studio, but what it excels at most of all is being an example of what it means for a business to exhibit virtue. That's not to say they don't have excellent training, they do - the instructors are talented, patient, and dedicated, and they have the trophies to prove it. Yet when you sign up for classes at CVDA, Kristen (owner) doesn't promise awards and scholarships, she promises your child will learn the skills necessary to be a positive, productive human being. Or as she puts it, "dance skills are life skills". As one example, they model positive contribution by actively serving and fundraising for the community every year.
