Happy holidays from our CVDA family to yours! ’Tis the season for giving and gifting to our loved ones. The shopping days are ticking by, but here are some ideas for that special dancer in your life. We conducted an informal survey, and here are some popular answers:
Back to basics:
Lots of dancers are wishing for new sports bras, booty shorts, and leotards. But not just the same old black- they want these classics in fun, sassy colors. All Star Dancewear in Newberg is continuously stocked with all these dancer basics. If you can’t make it in during our normal hours, we will gladly open by appointment. Just give us a call!
Dance gear:
For the serious dancer, surprise her (or him) with something that will help them take their game to the next level. Turning boards, Pro Arch foot stretchers, and Thera-bands (also known as stretching bands) were all mentioned in our survey. Thera-bands are available at Big 5. Pro Arch foot stretchers and turning boards are easy to find online. One website we like is Discount Dance for super fast shipping.
For the young dancer:
Elsa tutus are all the rage, thanks to the movie Frozen’s enduring popularity. Just do a quick online search and you’ll find something to help her light up like a Christmas tree when she sees opens her present and sees a blue Elsa tutu.
Shoes:
More out of necessity than wishfulness, shoes were at the top of lots of dancer’s lists. Sometimes they outgrow or wear out their shoes mid-year…the holidays are a good time to restock and fill their stockings simultaneously! Jazz shoes, hip hop shoes, and ballet slippers were all mentioned in our survey. (Hint: All Star Dancewear has the best inventory and selection in Yamhill County!)
Accessories and books:
Some dancers are asking for bun makers/bun donuts/hair nets, fake eyelashes, and makeup. Also mentioned were dance books and The Dance Bible: The Complete Resource for Aspiring Dancers (available on Amazon).
Don’t forget gifts for dance moms and dads!
How about a massage? Facial? Pedicure? One hour alone?! Or possibly a crown to rest on our weary heads? 🙂
Happy Holidays CVDA Family!
