This past weekend the majority of the CVDA Performing Company attended New York City Dance Alliance in Vancouver, WA. We started competition Friday morning and didn’t stop dancing until well into Sunday evening.
What kept us all going? The Performing Company Booster Club and their families – that’s who! We rented a room (their idea) and the families catered and provided a place for all of us to rest, recoup, and refuel.
But you know what I think needs to be said? We are a studio who cultivates the culture of FAMILY and that is what makes me so proud of what we do at Chehalem Valley Dance Academy. Sure, winning can be fun, but the trophies go on a shelf and gather dust, while the laughter and memories of personal triumphs make us who we are.
