Our 2022 Spring Showcase is right around the corner! We are so excited for all of our dancers to have the chance to show off everything they’ve been learning and working so hard on. Showcase is a great chance for dance families and friends to get to see the fruits of their labor.

We wanted to take a minute to answer some of the most frequently asked questions about Showcase:

Q: Why do we have to buy tickets to Showcase?

A: Showcase is a professional dance event and it costs money to put on! To accommodate all our amazing dancers and their performances, we have to rent a venue, rent a stage and other accessories, and pay our staff to be there. In addition to that, we hire a professional film crew to record Showcase so that it’s available and accessible to a wider audience. All of these things are what your tickets pays for. Regardless of the number of tickets we sell, we will always put on a high caliber, professional Showcase event.

Q: Who does my dancer’s makeup and hair? Why do we have to do makeup and hair for Showcase?

A: Makeup and hair are the responsibility of the dancer and their family. Unfortunately, we don’t have the capacity to provide that service to all of our dancers. Makeup and hair are important for a dancer to do for Showcase (and other performances) for a couple reasons:
• Having a dancer’s hair pulled back and out of their face removes it as a potential distraction for both the dancer and the audience. It also adds to the uniformity of the performance and allows the focus to remain on what the dancer is doing– their form and dance!
• Makeup on your dancers helps to bring out and emphasize their natural features and ensures that they are visible and clear in photos, on video, and for those in the audience that aren’t sitting close to the stage. It also ensures that they are not washed out and are present their best alongside their fellow dancers.

We also want to make all this an easy process, so we’ve compiled a couple of our favorite videos and guides that will fool-proof the process of hair and makeup for your dancer:
